Boys and Their Bubbles

6 Steps to The Perfect Professional Shampoo

Think Quality...not Quantity, which means using the post earlier this week to properly determine the right shampoo for your hair type. With my recent discovery of DS Laboratories REVITA shampoo, it has kind of thrown a kink in my chain...there used to be ‘lists” of shampoos -- now, there is one.

5 Steps to the Salon Perfect Shampoo

  • If your hair is long enough to validate it, comb your hair before washing it…there will be fewer tangles to un knot when hair is wet and vulnerable to damage, and it loosens dust and dirt as well
  • Use Warm Water, not hot – too hot and you will over stimulate sebaceous glands, making the scalp and roots greasy
  • Apply a small amount of shampoo any more is a waste and a pain in the ass to rinse away
  • Rinse until the water is suds-free: any residue left behind will make hair dull and lifeless – most likely this is the step you should concentrate on, I tell my boys to rinse one full minute longer than they think they should.
  • Repeat – 2 shampoos are best if you only wash 3 times a week or less.
  • Apply detangler to the ends of your hair – to make sure, hang your head upside down before applying. That way you will hit the ends, not roots.

Never under-estimate the AMLA Oil DEEP (overnight) Conditioner – if you want glossy, healthy hair invest the time and money in the deep conditioner especially if you are having hair fall, shedding, damaged/dry or weak hair.

The main problem I see in mens hair: Dull, Dry looking, not shiny healthy...that should not happen to short hair - short hair's advantage is constantly cutting the ends, something long haired people don't do much.

Most men are being cheap with their shampoo choices...shampoo CAN make a difference. I have found many men I ask what they use on their hair ( when I see its dry & lifeless) are shampooing with SOAP.

Is that you?
